The Movies
I love movies, all kinds. A Bollywood love triangle, a South Indian mass entertainer where physics is optional, a Hollywood blockbuster where a superhero single-handedly saves the USA, a South Korean thriller where the murder mystery refuses to be solved, a Japanese anime where strangely shaped humans just keep running - I watch it all. And, of course, a lot of web series.
But movies aren’t just entertainment for me. Sometimes, it’s the story that stays with you, but other times, it’s the brilliance of an actor, the vision of a director, the artistry of a cinematographer, the depth of a writer, or the magic of a musician. It’s fascinating how these elements come together to create something unforgettable. And sometimes, a film does more than just entertain; it sparks something within you. For me, it was one such movie that led me to pick up my first book, an experience that later shaped both my reading and writing journey.

The Music
Just like movies, my taste in music is diverse. I don’t always understand the lyrics, but that never stopped me from feeling the music. My playlists are a mix of everything, soundtracks from Hollywood movies, 90s Bollywood classics, Punjabi hits, Tamil mass songs, and timeless compositions and symphonies. Each track holds a memory, a feeling, a moment. There’s something about the way music can transport you, how a song you haven’t heard in years can instantly take you back to a specific time and place.
More than just something I enjoy, music has shaped my experiences in unexpected ways. A concert by my favorite composer took me to Europe, where I truly discovered my love for travel. And before every big moment, be it a jury, an interview, or anything that matters, I turn to his one album that never fails to set the right tone. Music isn’t just something I listen to; it’s a rhythm that moves through my life, shaping my journey in ways I don’t always realize.
And The Meditataions
Oops! There’s nothing here. To find it, you’ll have to take your own route and embark on your own journey.
For me, this journey started with one book, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. I loved it so much that when I read the acknowledgment section, I noticed he mentioned his practice of Vipassana meditation - two hours every day, along with his yearly two-month retreats in the Himalayas. And that’s how my journey began.
You want to know how it ends? It’s as simple as people say it is. There are thousands of guided meditations and countless techniques, but at the end of the day, you know what it really comes down to? Just breathe and let your thoughts pass by.
Simple. Yet the hardest part.
